Neurotoxin injections help prevent the signs of aging in the skin, injectable treatments not only assist in looking more youthful, but also prevent the formation of further wrinkle development in the skin. Anti-wrinkle injectables work by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. The injected muscle cannot contract. That makes the wrinkles appear more relaxed and softened. Botox is most often used on forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), masseters ( for either facial slimming or teeth grinding), lip flip, gummy smile, chin, and for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Botox Vs Dysport
Dysport and Botox are both types of botulinum toxin injections.
Botox is the very first product that was approved by the FDA for the treatment of frown lines and crow’s feet (smile lines). This treatment method improves the appearance of wrinkles in between the brows and near the eyes temporarily.
Dysport is also a minimally invasive injection that is targeted at paralyzing the activities of specific muscles in the face. This prevents the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Over time, Dysport treatments can soften the incidence of existing fine lines.
Common but temporary side effects can include slight pain, numbness, and headaches.
Both Botox and Dysport are considered to be safe and effective for the treatment of moderate to severe wrinkles. This treatment is temporary and follow-up injections are necessary to maintain the results you want.
The good thing about Dysport is that after injecting, it only takes a couple of days for results to take effect. These results last 3-4 months.
You may start seeing results from Botox within about a week, however the process can take up to 2-3 weeks for full effects. Botox usually lasts 4-5 months.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances which contain Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. Dermal Fillers are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. The effects of dermal fillers can last anywhere between three months to two years. It depends on the product being used and where on the body the product is being injected. So let’s break it down and give you a clear picture of the results you can expect.
Dermal fillers, sometimes called soft tissue fillers, are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness. Dermal fillers are considered to be safe but side effects can occur. The most common problems include: skin rash, itching, or pimple-like eruptions. redness, bruising, bleeding, or swelling.
Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6 to 18 months, it all depends on the brand of product and where it is injected. Our body can safely break them down and absorb them. Combining dermal fillers with Botox can help maximize the duration of the result.
